It's probably bigger than the Nissan Patrol, and whole lot more luxurious! The exterior is probably the most quirky part of the car. For us, it seemed like this was designed by a committee of engineers and designers. It has none of infiniti's usual class, instead the front face has a large "nose" forcing the headlights into the corners. What saves it is the massive grille in front, which still gives it a commanding look on the road. It's a big car with loads of ground clearance, so it's a more practical off roader than say a Porsche Cayenne. The QX get full marks on performance as the 5.6 liter V8 effortlessly accelerates this car on the road. The 5.6 produces a massive 400 horsepower combined with 560 pounds of torque using a 7 speed auto transmission. It's a real pleasure to drive this, as the car feel well balanced, powerful and creamy smooth on the road. Road noise is practically non existent, and perhaps the biggest disadvantage is the below average fuel economy this engine produces. But at this price, we're guessing fuel may not be a big worry. If you want to take it off road, you'll find the full time 4 wheel drive will effortlessly guide you across the dunes. Once you slide in, the QX will seal the deal. Infiniti's sensual wood accents, are complemented by a little chrome in the right places. The steering wheel has more wood, and holding it completes the feel of a luxury SUV. This is both a drivers car to enjoy, but passengers live in equal splendor. The interior still sports luxurious front seats, plush chairs with power adjustments and plenty of space in all directions. This is the most comfortable infiniti yet, especially for rear pasengers. Our version had captain seats in the rear with huge legroom even in the third row. Behind the third-row seat, there's as much cargo room as you'd find in the trunk of a Ford Fusion. With the power-folding third-row seat down, Infiniti counts 95.1 cubic feet of storage space. The QX is still finding its space with UAE drivers. Its exterior doesn't inspire, but its interior get big numbers for living up to its promise of a luxury SUV. It may not be on your list, but a test drive will definitely put it there. On our website www.motopedia.ae, you can search from brand, model, body type and budget and see all cars in your range.
