Its like trying to explain a smile. But that's exactly what you and others who see you will have when you're driving this car. It's just beautifully crafted and given enough curves to make a Ferrari feel a bit self conscious. The low angular front reveals a wide air intake, with 2 snake like vents on the hood, and mean LED headlamps placed like a slit in the metal. The side is nipped and tucked in the right places to showcase its agility, and aggression on the wheels. There is no angle from which this car doesn't look good! This car can cash all the cheques it writes. Slide into the bucket seat and wrap your fingers around the chunky steering wheel, gaze down its wide bonnet between the twin arches of the front wheels, fire up the engine, slot the gearstick into drive, feel your foot pressure the throttle… When you are in the grip of a Lotus it's hard to think about anything else. The 3.5 V6 engine is surprising taken from a Toyota Camry, and our supercharged "S" version bolts out 345 horsepower from the six speed automatic transmission. The interior is handsome finished, and is high quality but with some minor flaws. The most important one is that theres really no space to properly store your left foot. You have to angle it in, but after 2 days we got used to it and didn't bother us much. And the buttons for seat cooling and others have the most complicated icons and you're almost scared to touch them, in case you activate some sort of the launch sequence! The recaro bucket seats are fantastic, even if getting in and out of them can be slightly embarrassing. You get satnav and the usual tech, but we felt this is one area that Lotus can still improve on. There is no rear visibility and you'd have to flat pack your children ikea style for the rear seat, but would you still buy this.
