The Nissan Patrol has been a UAE favorite for as long as we can remember. It was either this, or the Toyota Landcruiser. Recently, Nissan decided to choose a different path to Toyota, by upgrading its looks to a more suave style than its previous functional design. Rounded edges everywhere, the Patrol looks pretty massive on the road. Its big on everything: headlamps, tail lamps, hood, grille, 20 inch wheels ... you name it. All Nissan's come standard with a 5.7 liter V8 engine with 400 horsepower an a whopping 560 pounds of torque, which means the car is reasonably nimble for its size, especially on manual shift mode. The 7 speed automatic gearbox is smooth allows quick acceleration. This of course comes at a price as the fuel economy, at least on our drive, was around 5.6km/l. Nissan's biggest change is in the interior. Gone are hard plastics and cheap materials. Inside, you're welcomed by a semi luxurious environment, from the soft supple leather, to the wood grain dash, 8 inch infiniti style infotainment screen with a 9.3 GB hard drive and soft touch materials. The Platinum edition comes with satellite navigation; around-view monitor; separate seven-inch DVD screens in the rear of the front seat headrests; a memory function for the driver's seat, a centre console cool box that can open from the front and rear, and Bose audio with 13 speakers. The car is wider and more spacious than ever especially in the first 2 rows. The driver and front passenger get a grand high view of the streets, while the rear passengers enjoy an almost flat floor easily seating 3 adults. The third row seating, need to be manually lifted, surprising, since we had the platinum edition, but there is an automatic close button for the rear cargo door. Leg room is immense, both front and back, and even in the third row so it could accommodate 2 adults. Even with all seats occupied you still get a hefty 550 liters of storage space. Nissan market this car as a rugged, yet refined, and they've hit the nail on the head. It's a classic UAE 4 wheel, that has reinvented itself beautifully. C'mon, guys. It's really amazing draconian quixotic 1!
-
If this is a sports truck, why the shitty automatic?
Extreme rich people demand manual transmission with 3rd pedal -
still love the old Patrol..manual transmission and that old "reliable, low-tech" look and feel of the old one

I'd like to point out something ....
1. All Nissan Patrol's come with 5.6 litre V8's not 5.7 !
2. There are two engine types
a) LE320 with 320 HP
b) LE400 with 400 HP
cheers .... cool review :) -
I bought one in New Zealand, our fuel prices arnt that of the uae. amazing perfomance!

Nissan is the top overrated car in uae
Off the road is a heavy big rimed huge car with good hp
That is also too expensive to do this kind thing .
People just follow the brand without understanding what less mony more car means
More mony more car is when you want a porcha or a range rover for more prestige same ability. -
This car is $160000 in my country! How much in dubai?

Nissan made the greatest Skyline BNR32, BCNR33, BNR34 GT-R! Of course, no doubt the R35 GTR! Also, the S15 spec-R, 350Z and 370Z are fantastic cars! But that's all and the rest of the car just average Joe's choice! However, the previous Nissan Patrol Diesel (5 doors) 4WD are very practical and satisfactory vehicle to use and driven daily! Why rich people must have a Japanese made diesel 4WD "5 doors TRUCK"! Because, they are the most reliable diesel 4WD cars in the world! Actually, we feel disappointed when test drive the new PATROL!
1) It doesn't have a EURO 6 standard Turbos Diesel Engine.
2) Not sure it has any Enhance Energies Recovery Systems to enhance power and fuel economy.
3) The design is too luxuriously! Why! They are mean to built to be simple, contemporary, easy to use, comfortable and durable! Please forget those advance logic circuit system! Just traditional hard wire electrical circuit systems please! Please put back the traditional hand pull E-brakes next to your driving legs, gear selection stick and 4WD stick back!
4) The performance should be Military Specification Standards.
5) The exterior design should be simple, clean rigid line and boxy but with punch taste! And able to fit those aftermarket bull bars nicely.
If I want a nice and expensive cars! Definitely European BIG BRAND NAMES! -
