Intro The GMC Yukon is one of the UAE's 4-wheel heavy weights. It's got American style aggressive looks, a spacious cabin and power. The Denali is a cut above, offering all of the above, and some luxury. Bumper This.. is.. Motopedia.ae! Exterior The redesigned Yukon is really striking. With a squarish design that means the car has a big upfront nose that ends sharply and transformers style C shaped headlamps the car really has a feeling of brute masculinity on the road. The lack of curves is good and makes it stand out from more family oriented SUV's like the Mazda CX9 and the Nissan Pathfinder. The rear features similar C shaped tailamps and a subtle rear spoiler give it's a wind swept futuristic look. Performance The Yukon Denali we have is a 6.2 liter V8 engine, that automatically switches off 4 cylinders when cruising to give you better fuel economy. It will give 420 horsepower with 624 pounds of torque and an excellent fuel economy of 10.2 liters per 100 kilometers. But behind the wheel, the car felt slightly sluggish and heavy taking off, especially on the first few gears. As you push the throttle, it does power on with the elegance expected of a Denali, owing to its Magnetic Ride Control which adjust the shock absorbers based on the track. In the wadi, this is an excellent vehicle to have, because even with its rather low front, you won't have any problem tackling small and large boulders and a specific tow haul mode gives more power to accelerate with heavy loads. Interior The Yukon Denali is plush inside with high quality leather covering on the seats and clean simple layout for the dash. Brushed aluminium and Java Wood trimmings give a looks that's not too lavish but luxurious enough. Thanks to its Bose noise cancelling tech, the car is surprisingly quiet, a feature everybody will appreciate. The driver gauge and display is new and can have a customized look and info. The 4 color heads up display is a welcome addition as well, providing collision alert info as well as radio and speed. Comfort & Safety The Yukon is a great large family SUV with lots of space for 7 to 8 passengers and their gear. The wide center armrest is a classic Tahoe and Yukon feature and makes it very comfortable. Although there's and 8 way automated driver seating, we just couldn't get a comfortable setting for yourself. The seats are far too flat and even rear passenger will tend to move around quite a bit. The 8 inch screen hides a cavern where you can store your ipod or even tablet with a USB and we counted around 5 USB ports and 2 charging ports. There's a mid door shelf and additional cupholder for the driver and rear passengers get map pockets in their doors. The seats have power options for folding fully flat and the liftgate is automatic as well. Children get a 9.2 inch rear DVD screen for those long journey accompanied by a Bose system and premium speakers. The center Intelli-Link 8 inch screen controls almost every aspect of the car and is a very intuitive touch screen. The Yukon Denali has front center airbags, collision warning, lane departure, blind zone alert, rear traffic alert and adaptive cruise control. You can't for more! Car Rating Performance - 3 Styling - 5 Drive & Feel - 4 Technology - 5 Price - 4 Fuel Economy - 4 Summary Pros Bold Macho Design Spacious Lots of entertainment & safety tech Power full flat seats Better Fuel Economy Cons Acceleration is sluggish and heavy Seats not very comfortable The Yukon Denali is one of the strongest contenders in the large luxury SUV category. Its got space, power and technology, although the power feels a bit short. Still, it will charm many outdoor lovers in the UAE! Then again, there's a lot more fish in the sea.
