The new Sonata features a classier and more elegant refined take on their current design. You can feel hints of the Hyundai Genesis in this, which is fantastic, because its one of the best looking cars on the road. No more weird slanty lines, its pretty much straight lines everywhere. Overall the car seems subdued and deceivingly petite, although the wide front grill, the angry eagle shaped LED lights, and fog lights outlined with chrome add quite a bit of masculinity. Overall, we thought it looked just fantastic! The Sonata is now a much more refined drive as well and the 2.4 liter engine produces a strong 185 horsepower. You get a six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual controls, in this front-wheel-drive sedan, fully reworked this time for quicker, more muted shifts. You also get three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Sport, but practically speaking, they make a very minor difference to the drive, and you'll probably drive in Normal most of the time. Sonata's have become very popular in the last few years, and Hyundai did the right thing of increasing the refinement and quality of materials in this car. It definitely feels better built, all of the cabin materials are tasteful, including the printed wood trim. The new Sonata is a bigger car and does a better job of accommodating passengers than it did last year, especially in the back. It's the same size as an Altima or an Accord, but its definitely roomier inside. And the panoramic sunroof makes it feel even more airy. The seats are more comfortable and ours had power passenger seat options as well. There loads of little cabins to store things in, so its ideal for a family with children. Its also noticeably more quiet inside than last years version, which adds to its premium feel. After driving it for a couple of days, it difficult to find a lot of fault with the new Sonata. It easily beats its competition in many segments, specially with all the tech it can offer. This one is easily added to the Motopedia favorites list!
