But their throne is in serious trouble with Infiniti's latest Q50 The exterior is just superbly crafted and folded to reveal sensual curves throughout the length of the car, but especially on the nose, and the rear wheel arches. The whole car has a very feline shape, low, curvy and about o spring into action. The front nose has the familiar hourglass shape, kind of like the Lexus IS, but less pronounced and blending smoothly into the grille. That strong nose, mean LED's and low air intake vents all come together to give it that powerful, yet young look on the road. You know a car is serious about the road, when there's a performance meter on the screen options! You get 2 engines, a V6 3.7 liter or the 2 liter turbo on the Q50 that we received, and we were not disappointed. It produces a total of 208 horsepower, with 350 pounds of torque. You get 3 modes of Standard, Sport and Eco, and these will significantly change the driving dynamics especially in sport mode. The Q50's interior cordon's off the controls to the driver with an arc running down the console. This asymmetry helps keep the look a little sportier, a little more cockpit-like, all focused around the driver. The new Infiniti InTouch is their multimedia system with a large 8 inch touchscreen on top displaying frequently used functions, while a second 7 inch touchscreen runs other infotainment and other systems on a separate pane below. Its kind of like having a dual monitor which could make things easier, or perhaps more complicated. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 is a bit larger than the BMW 3-Series, Cadillac ATS, and Lexus IS, yet a bit smaller than the 5-Series, Cadillac CTS, or Jaguar XF. Its got ventilated seats, which are very comfortable, especially for the long daily commute. The rear is much more spacious than the competition thanks to the slimmer seatback, and generally this a very comfortable car for 5 passengers. Infiniti has always captured the imagination of UAE drivers because of their samurai inspired designs, luxurious interiors and high performance cars. The Q50 raises the bar from sport sedans, and gives the BMW 3 series something to think about.
