Freezing rain creates treacherous bridge icing from Houston to Beaumont, Texas on Friday, January 24, 2014. **No one was hurt in any of these accidents** Copyright strictly enforced. Learn more about driving on icy roads at: http://icyroadsafety.com 1.) A tractor-trailer rig hits an icy bridge in Winnie, Texas and jackknifes into the median, barely missing another truck that had lost control moments earlier. 2.) A pickup driver, just warned by the photographer about the ice on the bridge, loses control and crashes hard into the barrier. 3.) Dashcam view of the same accident. 4.) An SUV loses control on an icy bridge in Cleveland, Texas just after rounding the curve out of view. The sound of the slide and crash is heard. The tractor-trailer thankfully does not collide with the wrecked SUV. 5.) Dashcam: A pickup nearly slides out of control on I-10 east of Houston, but recovers. 6.) well there's a two-lane freeway near Houston never would have thought
-
It's hard to rag on these guys too much, after all they don't see a lot of this kinda of weather in Texas.
-
Always expect a bridge to be frozen even if the road seems good air underneath a bridge cools the structure unlike the insulation of earth. If you don't see water mist coming off the tires your on ice.
-
um hello?, were are the truckers chains???
-
How do you prevent jacknifing like in the first truck?
-
Oh look, a swift driver crashed. Don't you people know how to drive on ice?
-
Swift at it again . Any professional driver " SHOULD " know that the colder air below the bridge will cause it to freeze a lot sooner than the roadway approaching or departing from the bridge itself . Common sense " SHOULD " say let off the the fuel before getting onto the bridge and above all else stay off of the brakes .
-
That is bad.
-
Watch the semi on the bridge closely...all I can say from someone who's been there down that, when you cross a bridge on a highway and the temp is below 35 ,keep your wheel as straight as possible do not change lanes and do not hit your brakes

So how would I
know? I ran 48 states including
Canada Provinces
and Mexico.Ive run
produce and every
other product you can put in a box. I
pulled flatbeds,
oversize,tankers,
doubles,triples and
hazmat.I gained all
these experiences
over 34 years and
accumulated almost 4 million
miles with no DUIs
or Accidents in ad-
verse conditions.
Yeah,so i do know
a little something
about TRUCKING!! -
those arnt even wrecks just people spinning out of control because the don't have winter tires on
-
Simple solution, DON'T DRIVE!!
-
Felt sorry for the Swift driver. The sudden gain of traction is what caused him to wreck.
-
Absolutely buteful

Esa pista tiene un problema muy fuerte en diseño, independientemente del hielo y de las condiciones climáticas, esa pista tiene una inclinación que afecta de forma muy cabrona la trayectoria de los autos y los camiones!!
-
I'm no professional but they're really stressing that cable at the end, they have a lot of resistance with it digging into the mud and all.

1:33 People that also dont change their wiper blades cause deaths/.
-
So what happen? he tried to slow down by using his brakes on black ice. He should of taking his foot off the accelerator and coast to reduce his speed.
-
How is it possible, it's not even icy roads, just a little ice on the bridges, and dry tarmac...
-
They should start building bridges with heat coils included somehow
