Learn how to do bay parking for your driving test step-by-step http://www.driving-school-beckenham.co.uk/bay-parking.html We show you how to do bay parking in the simplest way possible and how to correct the parking if it goes wrong. This is one of the practical driving test manoeuvres. You might not have to bay park on your driving test if your test centre doesn't have a car park. Although it's still an important manoeuvre to practice. The object of this manoeuvre is to reverse into a parking bay between the white lines. Reversing into the bay then makes it safer to drive forward out of the bay to leave. If it does go a little wrong then you are allowed to drive forward and then re-adjust back into the bay. You can also move your door mirrors down a little to help, but make sure that you're looking around constantly and not just in your door mirror. Stop if anyone approaches you from any angle. You could fail this part of your driving test if you don't park the car properly between the lines or if you're not observing around enough. You would normally bay park at the start of the driving test, at the end or not at all. MY TEST IS IN TWO DAYS IM SO NERVOUS

I'm 35 next month. I'm dreading my test. I can do these manoeuvres just can't seem to do them the way my instructor asks. I don't check over my shoulder enough and use my mirrors mostly. I think I'm to old maybe, and years of picking up other folks bad habits added along with my own its difficult to get out of. I fear the worst on my test. My advice to folk as soon as you are aged to drive and can afford it start taking lessons.
Thanks for the post. very helpful -

Common problems people have when bay parking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI6mUnSx3nk

do all tests require you to do this? I have my test soon and i have not done any bay parking. I have learnt all the other maneuvers but this one my instructor has never said anything about he has never got me to do it or talked about it.
-
I've got my test tomorrow and I'm quite nervous about the possibility of getting bay park since it is my worst one but knowing that you're allowed to go forward and correct it makes me feel a lot better
-
So which ever line you start your point of turn from you will park in the 3rd bay along ?
-
To be able to see where you are when parking is it easier to just lower your mirrors to the ground to see if you're in line with the bays? Cause normally you can't see the bay lines from looking in front or back window as you can't see whats below the car if that makes sense
-
say you're at the driving test center parked up, And you get asked to do a bay park straight away, how would you get a good starting position?
-
I'm so very confused about the point of turn not just for bay parking but also on other maneuvers. It's taken a real knock on my confidence. Please will you give me some advice or something that can help me??
